"The Love Song of 1990" is a 1988 song written by Luo DaYou. It is the Mandarin theme song of the movie "All About Ah Long." The movie follows the story of Ah Long, an excellent car racer who likes living a fast life. (Spoilers alert!) He has a loving girlfriend Bobo whom he later marries. However, after marriage, Ah Long continues to do whatever he wants, even hitting Bobo when she is pregnant.

Around the time his wife was about to give birth, Ah Long decided to race at an illegal sporting event. He killed a police officer in a car crash and was sent to jail. His mother-in-law lied to Bobo that she had a miscarriage, and the two emigrated from the country, leaving the newborn at an orphanage. Realizing what he had done, Ah Long felt a huge sense of regret. After being released from jail, he picked up his son and found a job as a delivery truck driver to raise him.

Ten years later, Ah Long accompanied his son to a racing competition where he found his wife, who is now a successful executive producer with a fiancé. Bobo was overjoyed to find her son alive and wanted to take him away. Ah Long, thinking that his son will have a better future with his wife, pushed him to join Bobo.

Afterward, Ah Long went back into car racing. His son missed his dad a lot, which slowly convinces Bobo to give Ah Long a second chance. The two of them went to see Ah Long race. With his son and wife both cheering him on, Ah Long was motivated to win. Everything was going well, and then Ah Long got into a crash.

Determined to get first place, Ah Long continued driving anyway. He slowly loses consciousness, ultimately crashing into a fence, setting the vehicle on fire, and killing Ah Long.
